We’d like to invite you to a very special free Plant Pono & Native Plants Workshop 6/20 Saturday at 9-10:30am in the Hawaiian Paradise Park Activity Center Pavilion.
The HPP Activity Center Pavilion is located at 15-1570 Makuu Dr. down the driveway from the Office.
Darcy Yogi, Plant Pono Specialist, will teach us how to identify plants, how to grow native plants, and identify invasive plants and pests.
We will be making Mamaki seed balls for you to bring home to plant.
Mamakai is a native medicinal plant that you can make tea from its leaves.
We will also have free kukui nut trees. The nuts need to be roasted before eaten. The oils from the nuts can be used for cooking or used on sunburns or rashes.
*** Bring your plant questions, photos, or sample of a plant or pest in a ziplock bag to be identified.

El Nino and Hurricane season has started. Be informed and prepared before the rain and strong winds. Treat the non hazardous Albizias with Milestone before they fall or spread their seeds.
Cut down or mitigate the hazardous Albizia trees.
